Mission of Foundation for Somalia is to promote intercultural dialogue, diversity as well as exchange of cultural experiences. The objective of our everyday work is to promote tolerance and respect for human rights and fundamental freedoms for all without distinction as to race, sex, language, or religion. We believe that every human being deserves acceptation and respect. We are the bridge between immigrants and Polish society. We support immigrants culturally and financially, allowing them to integrate better within Polish society and socio-economic reality. We promote education and knowledge about other cultures and traditions of African and Arab countries. One of the priorities of the Foundation is humanitarian and development aid with particular emphasis on the extremely difficult region of Somalia.
The foundation cooperates closely with Polish and foreign state institutions and non-governmental organizations dealing with the subject of immigrants, humanitarian aid for Africa. Until now, the Foundation has implemented and implements projects co-financed from the European Fund for the Integration of Third-Country Nationals and the European Refugee Fund, Social Assistance Bureau of the Capital City of Warsaw. Warsaw, the Youth in Action program, from the Polish development cooperation program of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Poland. Many initiatives are also implemented from the Foundation's own resources. In 2018, the Foundation for Somalia launched a three-year project to support foreigners in the Mazowieckie Voivodeship under the Asylum, Migration and Integration Fund. The main goals of the project are to increase the access of third-country nationals to existing local resources and services useful in the integration process, improving foreigners' competences, especially in the area of learning Polish, access to the labor market, civic knowledge, human rights, culture, tradition and history of Poland. Improvement of communication between entities working for integration and between these entities and third-country nationals. Training and professionalization of staff working with migrants, with particular emphasis on language, culture and the letter of law. The main goal of all activities is to integrate foreigners with Polish society and improve their qualifications, while respecting multiculturalism and human rights. All activities carried out under the project are free of charge and addressed to foreigners staying in Poland.
